Tool Kit Is a "Must Have" for Effective Mentoring Efforts

MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership and the Georgia Mentoring Partnership are pleased to announce the release of a comprehensive tool kit - How to Build a Successful Mentoring Program Using the Elements of Effective PracticeTM. The new tool kit offers step-by-step instructions that programs can follow to implement key components of the Elements - Program Design and Planning, Program Management, Program Operations and Program Evaluation - including more than 160 customizable tools and templates.

In addition, the tool kit offers nearly 100 references to additional resources and includes a "Checklist of Program Progress" for each of the four main components of the Elements. An online version of the tool kit can be downloaded for free at www.mentoring.org/eeptoolkit.

The tool kit provides the tools that mentoring programs need and will serve as an invaluable resource to us in ensuring that mentoring programs in Georgia have the tools to run quality mentoring programs. We will be offering a variety of training sessions to mentoring programs that center on how to use the tool kit to adhere to the Elements of Effective Practice and enhance the operations of new and existing programs.

The tool kit was developed by MENTOR through a generous grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
